Definition of targeted killing in English English dictionary
the targeting and killing by a government or its agents of a civilian or "unlawful combatant" who is not in that government's custody. The target is a person taking part in an armed conflict or terrorism, whether by bearing arms or otherwise, who has thereby lost the immunity from being targeted that they would otherwise have under the Geneva Conventions.2009, Patterson, Eric, Just War Thinking: Morality and Pragmatism in the Struggle against Contemporary Threats, Lexington Books, ISBN 978-0739119013, page 74: 2009, Morgan, Matthew J., The Impact of 9/11 and the New Legal Landscape: The Day that Changed Everything?, Palgrave Macmillan, ISBN 0230608388, page 227-228: 2008, Guiora, Amos N., Constitutional Limits on Coercive Interrogation, Oxford University Press, USA, ISBN 0195340310, page 150:
