    Etymology

    [ 'klüj ] (noun.) 1962. U.S. military slang, probably from the German klug (“clever”). There is also speculation that the term was influenced by a particular, old, allegedly complicated printing press paper feeder manufactured by the company of Brandtjen & Kluge.
