SıKLET MERKEZİ: Karada, havada ve denizde, katı netice yerinde ve zamanında, katı netice istikametinde kullanılmak üzere, üstün kuvvetlerin belirli bir bölgede yoğunlaştırılması. Buna "center of gravity" de denir
Definition of centroid in English English dictionary
The point at the centre of any shape, sometimes called centre of area or centre of volume. For a triangle, the centroid is the point at which the medians intersect. The co-ordinates of the centroid are the average (arithmetic mean) of the co-ordinates of all the points of the shape. For a shape of uniform density, the centroid coincides with the centre of mass which is also the centre of gravity in a uniform gravitational field
A point at the geometric centre of a polygon This can be used to represent a polygon as a point
The center of mass of a figure The centroid of a triangle is the intersection of the medians
The position of the centre of gravity of an entity, often used to reference polygons
The center or equalized point where all waste generated on the greater Avalon can be taken for lowest overall transport cost
Geometric center point of an object Referring to the moving center of the accumulated district boundaries, as distinct from the center point of the original or subsequent tracts A rough centroid is the simple average distance between the north/south and east/west boundaries A more accurate, but unnecessary, centroid may be determined from the integration of all opposing points in a shape Jump: Centroid Animation, Accumulator Method
The middle point of a geometric figure The coordinates of a point in a figure, which are at the average distance from the coordinates of all points on the surface of the figure If the figure is 2-dimensional, the applicable term is, centre of area, if 3-dimensional the terms are, centre of volume, or centre of mass
The object of measurement; in the case of a two-dimensional binary image object the average X and Y pixel coordinate
Any point used to label the attribute information link in a spatial database (polygon, line or point) The geometric center of polygon may be calculated as the average location of all vertices of a polygon boundary Any single location within a polygon, arithmetically derived or not, to which attribute information about that polygon is linked
that point about which the static moment of all the elements of area is equal to zero
This term has been replace by "representative point", which refers to a geographic co-ordinate that is a representative central location for a geographic area
* - the term given to the center of an area, region, or polygon In the case of irregularly shaped polygons, the centroid is derived mathematically and is weighted to approximate a sort of "center of gravity " Centroids are important in GIS because these discrete X-Y locations are often used to index or reference the polygon within which they are located Sometimes attribute information is "attached," "hung," or "hooked" to the centroid location
The "center of gravity" or mathematically exact center of an irregular shaped polygon; often given as an x, y coordinate of a parcel of land
In geometry, the centre of mass of a two-dimensional figure or three-dimensional solid. Thus the centroid of a two-dimensional figure represents the point at which it could be balanced if it were cut out of, for example, sheet metal. The centroid of a circle or sphere is its centre. More generally, the centroid represents the point designated by the mean (see mean, median, and mode) of the coordinates of all the points in a set. If the boundary is irregular, finding the mean requires using calculus (the most general formula for the centroid involves an integral)
is the term given to the center of an area, region, or polygon In the case of irregularly shaped polygons, the centroid is derived mathematically and is weighted to approximate a sort of "center of gravity " Centroids are important in GIS because these discrete X-Y locations are often used to index or reference the polygon within which they are located Sometimes attribute information is "attached," "hung," or "hooked" to the centroid location
Geographic points marking the approximate centers of populations of the 260,000 block groups and enumeration districts in the U S
Selected coordinate point usually within an area (a polygon) on a map In a GIS, a centroid is usually associated with a polygon See seed point
The point in a member at the intersection of two perpendicular axes so located that the moments of the areas on opposite sides of an axis about that axis is zero
