English - English
The state of temperature and humidity produced by an air conditioner
Present participle of air-condition
An air conditioner or system of air conditioners

This car has air conditioning.

The process in which the physical condition of air within a space is maintained in a desired condition by controlling simultaneously its temperature, humidity, cleanliness and motion
Control of temperature, humidity, movement, and purity of air in buildings
Process of controlling temperature, humidity and movement in a confided space
Air conditioning is a method of providing buildings and vehicles with cool dry air. a system that makes the air in a room or building cooler and drier
regulation by mechanical means of temperature, humidity, and air circulation within a selected enclosed area
The control of the quality, quantity, and temperature-humidity of the air in an interior space
Control of the temperature, humidity and air movement and cleaning of air in confined space
Control of the indoor environment by controlling the thermal characteristics (cleaning, changing the water content but mainly heating and cooling) the air supplied to the room
An Original Equipment or Aftermarket accessory system that cools and dries the incoming passenger compartment air Aka: a/c
a system that keeps air cool and dry
Your vehicle's air conditioning system works exactly the same as a home air conditioner A compressor pumps Freon gas (the refrigerant) to the condenser (the radiator-like heat exchanger in front of the radiator) Here the Freon sheds its heat and condenses into a high pressure liquid It then circulates through a restrictive metering orifice and enters the evaporator (the cooling fins under the dash) where it expands and cools the incoming air Then it goes back to the compressor to start the journey all over again A/C service requires special tools and know-how, but the do-it-yourselfer can add Freon if the system is low Most A/C failures are due to loss of Freon (through leaks), plugging (caused by moisture entering the system and forming sludge), or compressor failure (due to loss of Freon or plugging) The A/C system should be checked annually and Freon added as needed
A process that maintains comfort conditions in a defined area
Control of cooling, heating, ventilation and air quality in a confined space
regulation of air humidity and temperature (i.e. in a building)
The process of treating air to control simultaneously its temperature, humidity, cleanliness and distribution
The treatment of air temperature, humidity, cleanliness and circulation so as to achieve a controlled, desired result
Control of the temperature, humidity, air movement and cleaning of air in a confined space

air-conditioning
Control of temperature, humidity, purity, and motion of air in an enclosed space, independent of outside conditions. In a self-contained air-conditioning unit, air is heated in a boiler unit or cooled by being blown across a refrigerant-filled coil and then distributed to a controlled indoor environment. Central air-conditioning in a large building generally consists of a main plant located on the roof or mechanical floor and intermittently spaced air-handling units, or fans that deliver air through ducts to zones within the building. The air then returns to the central air-conditioning machinery through spaces called plenums to be recooled (or reheated) and recirculated. Alternate systems of cooling use chilled water, with water cooled by a refrigerant at a central location and circulated by pumps to units with fans that circulate air locally
central air conditioning
single air conditioning unit which spreads cool air throughout an entire house
central air-conditioning system
large air-conditioning unit which cools an entire house or building through vents
