Actions or situations that recklessly or intentionally endanger the health, safety, or welfare of an individual for initiation, admission into, or affiliation with any university organization
This has been defined by the National Panhellenic Conference as "any action taken or situation created intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment or ridicule " Hazing is forbidden by Brenau University, the Panhellenic Association and Georgia state law
any willful act or practice by a member or associate member, directed against a member or associate member, which, with or without intent, is likely to: cause bodily harm or danger, offensive punishment, or disturbing pain, compromise the person's dignity; cause embarrassment or shame in public; cause the person to be the object of malicious amusement or ridicule; cause psychological harm or substantial emotional strain; and impair academic efforts In addition, hazing is any requirement by a member or pledge which compels a member or associate member to participate in any activity which is illegal, is contrary to a member's or associate member's moral or religious beliefs, or is contrary to the rules and regulations of the fraternity, institution of learning, and civil authorities Hazing in any and all forms is prohibited by Delta Chi
Hazing is defined as "subjecting someone to abusive and/or humiliating mental or physical harm" This activity has been sanctioned by Widener University and is not tolerated by any of the national fraternities and sororities Strict rules and penalties exist at SHU regarding the mental and/or physical abuse of anyone involved in the fraternity or sorority Please refer to the Hazing statement and information section of the Greek Life pages
To mentally or physically persecute or torture somebody in a subordinate position, for example, a fraternity pledge or a first-year military academy cadet Hazing is illegal and is strictly forbidden by federal and state laws
Any conduct which subjects another person, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, or psychologically, to anything that may endanger, abuse, degrade, or intimidate the person as a condition of association with a group or organization, regardless of the person's consent or lack of consent Waterloo has a NO HAZING policy and takes strict action against any fraternity or sorority that participates in hazing activities
persecution or harassing with humiliating tasks, words, or actions Hazing is expressly forbidden by Panhellenic and the Interfraternity Councils
