Daggerboards are found in some long boards They are usually about 3' long, and are sometimes called a center board The daggerboard slides into a slot in the middle of a sailboard, and provides lateral resistance through the water, which helps the sailor beat to windward
Similar to a centerboard, except that it is raised vertically Like a keel, daggerboards are used to prevent a sailboat being pushed sideways by the wind
