A colonnade is a row of evenly spaced columns. a colonnade with stone pillars. a row of upright stone posts that usually support a roof or row of arches (colonnato, from colonna; COLONEL). Row of columns generally supporting an entablature, used either as an independent feature (e.g., a covered walkway) or as part of a building (e.g., a portico).
